East Blackwood Company District

  • Siarah weights her options as Diob is leaving but since Raven stayed and it seemingly might be a long meeting she finally sat down at the table. In front of her she placed a book, she began drawing something on a page containing signs and names of the elements. In another note book on the side, with closer inspection, one could read "Order in chaos?" along with some notes of what seemingly were theories about where something would strike next. Different patterns and traces were written in the papers.

A carriage arrived from the East side and pulled through the simple, walled gateway leading to the Kutschergilde carriage stables and carriage house. The Embassy Guard mercenaries on duty opened the door to the carriage to let its passenger out. The passenger was a fancily dressed-thin man in a uniform of gold and ocher brocade. In place of weapons he is carrying large leather back. As an escort he had one personal mercenary of the Embassy Guard. The man and his guard made his way to the building adjacent to the E.B.Co headquarters building which bore the banners of the East Blackwood Embassy and the Realms Embassy.

  • DJako entered the deputation building with a faint smile. He was worn out from his travels back from Drachenbrück, and tough he knew that there would be business to attend sureley, he hoped for a restfull night as he left carriage behind to speak with a servant waiting for him. After she welcomed him, she orderd for the carriage to be unloaded, and began informing him of the state of things.

Djako sighed. As the women talked of the situation the Company found themself with the Iron Daggers in, he let out a sigh. There went his calm evening, he thought, looking at the setting sun. He turned to the Guardsmen: "Waits here for a short while, i have to gather paperwork in the deputation". He waited for a nod of him before leaving for the building.

Not long after he joined him outside again. "Lets go" he said with his usual determination for business, and then left with him for the Company Home Base.

The silence in the room was deafening. The merchant was still nervous with having even a few Iron Daggers in the room and he with no guard present. Lady Sayeh did not appear nervous just angry. The silence was finally broken when from the back a women entered the small hall and talked in hush tones to Lady Sayeh and the merchant. Shortly after she left.

The merchant turned back to Sir Raven and forced a smile, "Djako Kaevh, Master Merchant of the East Blackwood Company has arrived and will be here shortly."

A women entered the deputation building and addressed Djako, "Master Kaevh, I believe now would be a good time for you to meet with Sir Raven. Lady Sayeh is in the E.B.Co building right now with him and the remaining Iron Daggers."

  • Outside of the East Blackwood Company HQ Building

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No more than a half an hour after the arrival of Djako, a tall man in a long dark coat and a sword entered the the square from Commander Anthem's manor house and made his way toward the East Blackwood Company HQ building slightly North East of where he was. The same messenger woman who had been doing the rounds this day was at his side.

"Graf Beria, Sir Raven of the Iron Daggers along with a couple remaining members are still in that building. Take care as I believe they are very unhappy." The messenger dipped her head lightly and hurried off to her next assignment.

  • English:
Beria aka The Duke talked to the woman for a moment, repeatedly pointing her fingers at the EBCo headquarters.

After a while, he signed something and went straight to headquarters and went straight to the meeting room.

  • English:
"A wonderful good evening, ladies and gentlemen, if I could introduce myself... My name is High Elf Born Beriad de Eline, imperial judge of Dalag Nor, Shaika consort of Amabis, curator of the guardians of knowledge, captain of the special unit for Caverns and underground catacombs, mearchend of the East Blackwood Company ... "

While he was introducing himself, he straightened his black gloves and went to a jug to see if there was any met left and continued ...

"... but most call me The Duke ..."

He sees Djako and the Baroness Sayeh

"... ahhh nice to see you Djako I hope you are fine ..."

then he turns to the baroness.

"...My Lady it is me a honore to finally meet you personally, even if the circumstances of our meeting are not as I had hoped ... yes, you know ..."

He turns to Djako again and says "Djako ... if my methods are used, even if they seem unconventional to you, let me know I'll have a drink first ..."

He sits down at the table, nods to the rest of those present and pours himself met.

    German:
"Einen wunderschönen guten Abend die Damen und Herren, wenn ich mich vorstellen dürfte. Mein Name ist Hochelfgeborener Graf Beriad de Eline, Reichsrichter zu Dalag Nor, Shaika Gemahl zu Amabis, Kurator der Hüter des Wissens, Hauptmann der special unit for Caverns and underground catacombs, Händler der East Blackwood Company... "

  • Djako, who himself arrived just shortly before, honours Berians offer with a nod, before turning to the remaining Iron Daggers. "Greetings and good Evening to all of our esteemed guests from the Iron Daggers. I had the pleasure of meeting a few of you 2 Years ago, bzt for those who don'z know me, my name is Djako Kaevh, Thirdborn of House Kaevh, Masterscribe of the East Blackwood Embassy and Master Tradesmen of the East Blackwood Company. I have been informed shortly after my arrival that theres a dispute concerning the rewardin of youre remittance concerning youre provided service for our company. Im sure youre aware that your hiring and the concerning rewards were not done by me, but my position allows me to settle this, hopefully to the satisfaction of both partys involved. It's in my interest, i think as well as yourse, to resolve this as soon as possible. It also came to my ears that the discussion became quite heated, but youre businessmen as well as me, and im sure we will be able to look past that."

Djako looks into the room, his hands folded on the table, with a glass of wine in his hand, his eyes wandaring over mercanarys to see who would answer.

The Lady of Sapphire Ilse, was still standing near the head of the table with the merchant next to her.

When Beria announced himself the merchant eyes widened slightly but he soon relaxed when the master merchant of the East Blackwood Company arrived as well. He smiled at both of them.

  • Sayeh stood up, “Gentlemen, we have a dispute on our hands over contracted work and further work done after contracts were concluded. A dispute over property that was gifted, but no written acceptance. In the end, these are not terms I can negotiate despite the records we have here. I’ll have the merchant fill you in on the details. The Voice of the West, Jean-Louis is expecting me, and I have delayed my plans with him long enough.”

She turns to the Leader of the Iron Daggers, “Master Kaevh and Beriad will take your case from here, Sir Raven.”

With his her ladies get close to her as she storms out of of the meeting room.

  • The merchant, who was not Beriad or Djako, watched Sayeh leave then turned back to look at first Sir Raven and then the new arrivals from the E.B.Co. He paused dumbly for a moment before snapping out of it.

"Oh, right, Master," he nodded to Djako. "Your lordship," he bowed his head lightly to Beriad. "Sir Raven" he bowed his head lightly to Sir Raven. "We have documentation but not enough of it on either side to clarify the issue of payment for a job completed some time ago. The original contract between the East Blackwood Company and the Iron Daggers was over a year ago and was not put to parchment... There are three written correspondence between the two companies which outline the payment negotiations for that original job. One further discussion took place between that first job and now to discuss the possibility of future relationships between the two companies."

"By our calculations, the Iron Daggers worked for us officially for around two months. Unofficially, they stayed on for a further four months continuing their work and helping our Guard here in Copperdale. After that they have remained mostly within the district. They wished to be paid for the total time here and we were only authorized to pay them for the time of the initial contract. With your arrival Master Djako, we can settle this matter once and for all, I hope." The merchant put on a nervous smile.

"There are also other matters to be discussed such as a future job should one take place. We have some complications with that that will need to be clarified in the near future. For now though, I believe you have the documentation and our notes on this business, would you Master Djako, or you Sir Raven like to continue this discussion now?"

    ------

  • Djako turned his head to Sir Raven. "Sir Raven" he likweise nodded his head at the man "It's regretable to me, presonally, that no formal contracts were set or signed. This is not mine nor our usuall matter of dealing with employment. But for now, it is how it is. Sir Raven, do you agree with our merchant that youre Offical and Unoffical time of service to us comes to six months in total?"

He takes the papers in his leather bag out, and orders the various written texts while studying them intensly.

After a moment he looks up again.

"I was also informed that concerning the area you gained, for which i am outspokenley gratefull, there are mutliple claims to it's size. In the first letter you spoke of 25 percent of our then current area. Is this true?", he spoke in a calm voice, his eyes now fully on sir raven again.

  • Raven leaned on the table with his head hanged low.

As the new gentlemen entered the room and Lady Sayeh was about to leave he spoke up. "I am sorry our first meeting was like this Lady Sayeh, I know none of us wanted this. Go with the blessing of the elements."

He then turned his attention to the new gentlemen in the room. "Fine evening to you two gentlemen. As you know my name is Raven, if we are on formal titles I am Champion and leader of the Iron Daggers, knight of Sir Ulrich first of Porto Leonis"

"Your merchant speaks the truth and yes we can settle on six months served time" He then went for the nearest jug with clean water and filled his cup. "Regarding the expanded territory. We the Iron Daggers have become wards of a small part of Copperdale, including some territory next to yours. Some of that territory as Diob mentioned in his letter is a gift to East Blackwood company, one you haven't accepted yet. As to how big the area is precise, I am sorry I don't know. Diob has left the meeting in frustration and he is the one with the knowledge."

He leaned a bit on his cup and before anyone could answer he continued "Regarding our payment. If we should settle on six months of payment, we still helped provide order and security in your district after. We have also been supplied with good food and wine in your service, so won't you think it's fair that it cancel itself out?"

It was clear he was a bit tired at this point, but he tried his best to seem friendly.

"And my last proposition. My men need to get paid, but one thing most of us Iron Daggers knows to be true is that knowledge is power. So I will be willing to cut it down for 4 months of payment, in exchange for a written favour From East Blackwood. A favour of knowledge."

He then raised his cup and gave the men a chance to speak.

  • Djako's face litghtend up a bit. Tough still a bit weary, he eased up his posture.

Before Sir Raven finishes he takes a sip from his cup and looks at him with a smile.

"First of all would like to say that all of the Iron Daggers are welcomed Guests, of us and especially from me. The youre food and drinks are obviously on us, and i hope there was never any doubt about that."

As for the payment, im glad to hear

that we found an agreement. The months, be it four or six will be payed, i will see to a soon arival of your Coin. As for the favour of Knowledge, im sure we have simething of youre interest" He glances over to the tall blone elf by his side.

"Maybe Sir Beriad may be able to help us in this. Is there something of particular interest to you?" he turn his head back to the mercanerys and Sir raven

"It goes without saying that this time, there will be a written contract.

As for the gift, it was neither my intention nor my will to refuse youre

generosity, for whick i wish to speak out my gratitude out now, tough if he is the one in the know i think ot would be best to discuss this matter with diob once hes willing to do so. Again, i would like to apologize for the unclearnes surrounding this."

He glanced over to beria before taking the cup again, and leaned back a bit
